I’m Cody, and I created FilmIntel because I love movies, and film industry economics have always fascinated me. I spent four years at Disney+ building global subscriber forecasts and analyzing content ROI, working across finance, data, and marketing. I saw firsthand the shift from box office being king to a complex world of tax credits, streaming acquisition and retention, and how it almost always goes back to content. But the true value of a film is often obscured, and even the biggest studios and streamers struggle to quantify success or use robust data for greenlighting decisions.
That work is the reason this site exists. Smart people in the industry spend countless hours trying to reconcile numbers that are confusing or contradictory, and they rarely tell a cohesive story. FilmIntel is the site I wanted as an analyst and a fan.
I now run Kite Hill Consulting, where I help subscription, media and growth-stage companies make better financial decisions. That work sits at the intersection of financial modeling, strategy, analytics and executive storytelling.
